Kaydence, Kalleigh, Collin and Aidan
I talk about a lot of different topics here, I realized recently when reading my posts that I have neglected to share something with you that is one of the most important parts of my life! My Family!
To me Family is part of my heartbeat, I am a man that loves his wife and kids passionately! So it is only fit that I share them with you…
Kalleigh, Kimberly, Kaydence, Jason, Aidan
Kimberly: My wife and soul mate! honestly I have no idea what I would do without her… she keeps me sane, inspired, driven and organized.
Aidan: This little guy is one of a kind… Aidan is autistic and takes 200% of my attention… and I have ADD so it is a lot of work! If there is toilet paper spread around the house in streamers…. if there is a weird smell in the house… or if it sounds like someone threw a toddler bed down the stairs… the familiar refrain… “AIDAN!!!” is always not far behind!
Collin: Collin is my first born… we have gone through a lot together… He has weathered my divorce from my first wife, and an adoption by his step-dad. Needless to say he has had more than his share of drama in his life. Our relationship is definitely one that requires constant effort and patience on both of our parts… I love him more than anything and one day we will figure out what to do with each other.
Kaydence: Kaydence is my first girl… I have to say it is really strange trying to figure out how to raise little girls… they get their feelings hurt by EVERYTHING!! I am beginning to become an expert at asking nicely for them to be good girls… Kaydence is as sweet as they come and just as hard headed (she gets it from her mom) She is also a brilliant artist with lots of creativity… and a good eye for detail…
Kalleigh: Kalliegh is a little fireball… she has no fear… and is the youngest of our clan… she knows how to hold her own and pretty much keeps her siblings in line with a well placed screech of disagreement when somebody crosses her. She loves to watch “Signing Times” and is learning new signs every day there is nothing cuter than watching her sing along with the video and do her signs.

if you hate anybody,
if you just did it again and you feel horrible about it,
if you don’t know why you do the things you do,
if you feel hopeless,
if you feel insane,
if you feel like jumping,
if you already jumped,
if you just left and are never going back,
if they broke your heart,
if they broke your spirit,
if you are broke,
if you are bent,
if you are angry,
if you are afraid,
if you don’t care anymore,
if you care but are afraid to show it,
if you are confused,
if all you want is to be touched,
if it all fell apart today,
if they did it again and you just can’t forgive,
if you don’t want to go on,
if you don’t feel anything anymore,
if none of this fits you, or if all of it fits you
Please know that God truly does love you more than anything else in this world. He isn’t concerned about how well you keep it together, or if you did the right thing.
he is not interested in how often you go to church, or if you said your prayers yesterday.
He just wants you to know he loves you… he really doesn’t need you to do anything…he has everything he needs, he just wants to love you… just focus on loving him back with all your heart. stop focusing on trying to please others or doing the right thing, or being right, or even keeping it all together… let it all fall apart! all those other things, they are just distractions, just love him back… and let me know how much it changes your life…

This evening as the sun was going down Aidan mentioned that it was getting dark. I asked him if he knew why and he just looked at me like it was a a dumb question. Kaydence however had the perfect explanation… “The sun is going into the grass!” I looked at her for a moment grinning at her simple observation about the sunset. Then I said … “That is exactly right! and so then it gets dark!” Kaydence and Aidan went on about their business, but I couldn’t help but think about our conversation… From Kaydences perspective she was perfectly happy with the explanation.. and in a way she was right enough… for her. One of these days she will be able to understand what the sun actually does.. but for now she is satisfied.
As christians, how often do we simply miss the point of what God is doing in a similar way? I think about some of the ways that we come up with our “doctrines” for what we observe as christians and how we are not happy until we make sure everyone around us beleives the same “truth”. How hard is it for us to accept that all God is trying to teach us is how to love each other!? For all the doctrine that you may be able to argue and prove, chances are…. all you are saying is something as silly as “The sun is going into the grass”

Today is Dr. Seuss’ birthday!
Dr. Seuss has had a profound impact in my life… and I truly believe that some of my personality is actually due to the characters in his books… Still to this day if I see a Dr. Seuss book, it is impossible for me to ignore it! I simply must pick it up and read it cover to cover… They are actually my all time favorite books… and I highly recommend them for kids and adults alike!
I honestly do not know if I would be the same person without a “There’s a Wocket in my Pocket”, “Horton Hears a Who” and “Marvin K Mooney Will you Please Go Now!”
so if you don’t have em get em and read em to your kids they are tons of fun… ! Dr Seuss Books!
