I found this article over at SCL and loved it… the blog is written by a guy that pretends to be Steve Jobs the CEO of the Apple corporation and I thought Jon at SCL hit the nail on the head when he said “I recently read his open letter to the people of the world about the iPad and found it surprisingly convicting as a Christian”

Once in a while I find stuff that just doesn’t get the recognition it deserves… like The Orange.I think “Cherry Unleashed” a blog by missionary Justin Cherry in New Zealand,  deserves some recognition.  The thing I like about this blog is that Justin is great at translating his thoughts in short meaningful tidbits that challenge the status quo; Something that I tend to like… ALOT!   I like his introdution…

Too often we try to be something we are not and too seldom we try to be who we were made to be.  I am a coward, I am a fake, I am a messed up follower of Christ.  This is me unleashed, untamed and not quite dangerous…yet!

Carlos Whittaker from Ragamuffin Soul recently caught my attention and just in time it seems… he just released his new EP carlos whittaker

The thing I like about Carlos is he really communicates authenticity, and that is something that I can identify with…he mentions

disrupting and disturbing “career christians”  wow what a great way to put it!   I recently put Ragamuffin Soul on my highly recommended blog roll so be sure to check him out.

I just picked up his Album at Itunes and I have to say Rain it Down has really got me singing. If you are the “try before you buy” type then check out this free discovery download

Jon Acuff over at SCL(Stuff Christians Like)  is pretty consistent with his satirical looks into some of the silly things we do as christians…  There are very few sites that make my “Highly Recommended” blog roll  but SCL is absolutely on the list… My mind is permanently scarred after reading the “Booty, God, Booty” article (just read it! ) and there is tons more great stuff to read that really makes you think about why you do things… which is a good thing for Christians… because sometimes we forget to think about why we are doing things :)

I want to give props to a recent article Struggling with New because it covers the renewing power of God …  and specifically talks about Jon’s victory over pornography… something that I struggled for years with. (story here) Be sure to check out SCL and take a look through the archives! there is tons of humor, good stories and thought provoking articles.  the site has been recently redesigned and I have to say it looks great, its easy to navigate and there are tons of great comments too!

So have you already been there???  give Jon some props here!   Let me know if you like  SCL as much as I do!

Windows or Mac

Well a new version of windows is rolling out, Windows 7. To make my joy complete Apple has released a new “I’m a mac/I’m a PC” Ad. I recently made the upgrade to Snow Leopard on my Mac Mini and I have to say it was painless! It actually freed up about 10 gigs of hard drive space and sped up my aging Mac Mini to the point that I really think I can go another year without an upgrade! For the first time I have owned the same computer system for longer than 2 years without a major hardware upgrade… Pretty cool! and its faster now than when I first bought it thanks to the minor purchase of 29$ for the upgrade to Snow Leopard.

Windows 7 on the other hand is not so gentle… 219.99 for the ultimate version of Windows 7 as an upgrade and 319.99 for the full version! I am starting to wonder where the benefit of this operating system will start to show up… It’s obvious that Microsoft has found the way to continue to leach money out of their devoted following with the ridiculous pricing scheme. It is amazing to me how many people continue to be loyal to Microsoft completely oblivious to the peace of mind that they could have by buying a Mac.

They say insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results… well here we go again!
