Building Something

Building Something

I am not a carpenter…at all. However I love to build things; I have trouble though.. things just don’t really come out as planned I try to take special care but still my carpentry projects tend to end up being less than awesome. The week of this new year I planned to build a cabinet to hold all of my musical equipment. The idea was that I could lock it all away from my autistic son and when I wanted to play I would just open it up and start playing.  So I planned it out, took all the measurements and started cutting up the...

work

There are times that we feel so trapped by things in our lives, exhaustion, depression, anxiety, and fear, seem to be our only companions as we struggle to keep afloat… to keep from drowning… to keep breathing… it’s the breathing.. that’s taking all the work it seems… In the middle of the struggle its easy to forget to truly trust God and let go of the things that trap us… but it is really just that simple… let the mess fall where it may… he can clean it up. Lyrics: Just in case, I will...

So Much Spaghetti

So Much Spaghetti

Our choices are never so cut and dry… and our lives are never as simple and in control as we imagine…our lives are like so much spaghetti that is tangled and sticky and more messy than anything… you cannot grab a single strand or even a few… without breaking or cutting others. choices and consequences often intertwine and become indistinguishable from the rest of our lives… we often do not understand the very passions that drive us. We can only hope to seek God truly and honor him in our lives…while...

A Long Weekend

A Long Weekend

I recently encountered a discussion on the web and a commenter stated regarding the death and resurrection of Christ “I don’t see the point of it, except as symbolism. Anyway he apparently got resurrected afterwards, so instead of sacrificing his life, it was more like one long weekend.” I would have been remiss to have not responded to such a challenge…  and so I wrote. it is so much more that we give it credit… imagine an eternally sufficient being taking the time to simply imagine something as insignificant to his...

Doing Hard Things

Being a leader is not always the easiest job…there are expectations to meet, ideals to promote, and people to motivate. I have heard someone once say… “if you think you are a leader look behind you… if no one is following… then you are not a leader.” For aspiring leaders this is a somewhat truthful saying. On the other hand leading does not always involve dragging people through the same stuff you are going through. A good example is Jesus, he often escaped to a mountain alone… or to a boat… sure...

Being the SuperCulture

Posted by on 6-06-10 in Featured Posts, My Thoughts | 3 comments

There are those that believe that the true “Body of Christ” is a subculture of the modern movement of “Christianity” The idea is that there are many that identify themselves as “Christian” and yet deny very principals and ideals of Christ himself; exchanging them for the more widely accepted “Religious Right” or other similar political views… The idea is that “Christianity” as a whole has become somewhat of a misnomer. Simply put the “Bride of Christ” has moved on...

The Symphony

Posted by on 6-06-10 in My God, My Life, My Thoughts | 0 comments

It is amazing to me how God’s will is constantly moving us. Moving us in or out of places or positions of service. Using our own actions and the course of our lives to bring a magnificent symphony of his design and purpose into existence. We have only to be at peace that his will is done and we are gracefully included in it! - JasonTheBaldGuy jasonthebaldguy.com
