Thanks for passing by. Your husband is pretty funny!   for a home desktop the mac mini is not a bad leap... I will agree the laptops seem to be cost prohibitive.. but once you add in all the stuff you need on a regular laptop just to keep it working... you actually end up spending less.  plus the fact that there are quite a few 5+ year old mac laptops that are still kicking it and healthy.  The average PC laptop rarely lives beyond 3 years due to poor heat management and bad design. </description>

the mac mini is the most affordable mac option... you ought to look at it when you getting close to chisel and stone.. runs around $599  and you would be surprised how much you can do just out of the box. There is tons of free or inexpensive software that is much higher quality than you would generally pay for. </description>
