Good words brother! So what it seems like you are saying is we should be a light IN a dark world? Like not just a stationary object sitting somewhere, but a lantern running around in the world, relieving people of thier darkness? That sounds like something I can get into...

thanks for the amens ! I might just have to check out some of Jacobsen's stuff. All four points strike a chord for me. My wife and I have really felt like we were stagnating a bit and have been looking for where God was going to take us next. We are really realizing that we have actually restricted our circle of friends, not purposefully but just by focusing on the "christian" label. We are excited to explore what we will learn when we branch out and really interact with the people around us!

A second amen... Are you familiar with Wayne Jacobsen? He teaches about the 'Relational Church,' which focuses on 3 ideas. The first is that we need to live daily in the reality of how deeply the Father loves us. The second is that the church is the body of believers and not walls of a building and that true Kingdom relationships don't fit neatly into the churches we pack ourselves into based up our geographical or personal preferences. Rather we need to seek out and recognize whom God is connecting us with. The third is that we should be sensitive to every encounter we have over the course of the day to look and see what God might be doing whether we are going to the bank or strolling through a shopping mall. We never know what our is up to unless we are willing to ask. It's a very exciting way to live.. 4th, (not an official one but a good one nevertheless) most leaders in churches motivate their flocks to do their will out of guilt and manipulation tactics which our Father is not too pleased with. If we were to really seek the Father He would probably have some very different and creative ideas for us to be a part of in His Kingdom.

I hope that made sense, I'm exhausted!

God Bless.
