Being Right vs. Being True

// September 21st, 2009 // My Thoughts

In today’s society,  truth is becoming more and more a rarity. People are more interested in being right, than they are in finding truth.  I actually wonder sometimes if people are afraid to know the truth, that somehow they feel better if they can continue believing what they believe.  For me, knowing truth is exciting and it challenges me to constantly remain open to things that I haven’t thought about yet.  Many of my posts here are about finding truth, about being true, not about me being right.  In my search for truth I have often come against some pretty serious opposition, people that cared more about being right, than knowing truth.

The good thing about truth is that it can be questioned and poked and prodded and it still remains as true as it ever was.

so how about you?   have you been more interested in truth? or being right?     let me know!

    Truth! I give up my rights for the truth. (but even that is a daily argument with myself). How are you Jason? Hope and pray all is going good. I see you have Skillet in you favorite songs. I got to see them at the Harvest Crusade out here last month. It was good, but now I now I'm getting old, I was a bit scared when the stadium started rockin up and down. Take care brother!

    There isnt a bit of satisfaction in "being right"- true to God and yourself is the best sleeping pill in the world!! :)
