Standing back to watch…

Anyway, Im ADHD, so I often take several days to read long articles or comments, much less write anything… I have wanted to write several things on here but it has been amazing to me to see that my thoughts have been flowing through other people’s pens and they have been expressing them quite fully. So I was just writing to say how proud I am of my brother… of his honesty, his integrity, his candor, his apparent spiritual insight and wisdom. Its neat to see other people marveling at his insights…as I myself marvel. God has done great things with my brother, and is doing great things through him.

It’s like a little spiritual revolution is happening… I see people of all ages, from all backgrounds and of all religious “brands” deciding they are tired of looking like they are happy, tired of acting like they are doing ok, tired of wondering what people will think if they tell it all…and they are quitting. Not quitting God (which is remarkable) but quitting fake, quitting giving a crap what the rest of the world, nation, city, neighborhood, church, or family thinks about them, and starting to figure out what God REALLY had in mind when He started all this… THAT is cool. It’s refreshing, it is what some Jews did when Peter preached to them about Jesus… I mean imagine that. Lifelong, generations upon generations of forefathers of Jews, and one day a Man changes it all… and they decided to become Christians, leaving behind the traditions and practices of their ancestors, turning their backs on family and leaders who condemned them for becoming apostate…they became Jesus people. That is what I keep hearing and seeing from people today. People who you would never expect to care, people who curse the “church” and can’t stand Christians, suddenly see someone who is honest and candid about life and Jesus…and they are intrigued. I know a guy that would shoot God the bird, and let fly a string of curses the likes of which I didnt know existed at the heavens, who is now a Christ follower… because someone was just honest and real, and didn’t give him made up answers for questions that are hard to answer…he decided to follow Jesus…Im seeing it and its exciting…Im ready for it. Keep writing on here and reading the great articles, keep thinking, keep being real… keep not caring what the religious big wigs say, and just keep talking about GOOD NEWS!!!

    When we, the body of Christ (the Church), become more concerned in holding onto traditions than becoming like Jesus we become nothing more than worldly people with a denomination attached to our names.

    A good book on this subject is “The Barbarian Way” by Erwin McManus.

    I think these two bald guys are onto something.
